What a funny old week PSG have had. The away defeat to Bayern wasn't so shocking although with the form they had been in, you thought they would have won. It was more the defeat to lowly Ligue 1 strugglers Strasbourg the previous Saturday that raised a Roger Moore like eyebrow.

Even if they were away from their Paris home, you fully expected them to win handsomely there.

The new manager had an unusual style 

It just seemed one of those days they couldn't really be bothered to try hence the shock loss. It does make you wonder if it's all a bit too easy at times for them and they mentally switch off.

I fully expect them to win this coming weekend having said that. Their pride will surely have been hurt by Strasbourg embarrassing them and they will want to come back strong in response.

AC Milan Sack Montella

Chicken or egg?

Recent news in Serie A has seen AC Milan sack Head Coach Vincenzo Montella. It was on the cards to be honest and I don't think anyone is surprised to see him go. I think he is a good coach but a club like Milan demands more than that.

A run of just 20 points from 14 games was enough to spell the end, following a drab 0-0 draw with Torino. No doubt Montella will soon have offers to get back into the game as he showed enough promise in the dug-out to deserve it.

The first days training went well

Big spending AC Milan now turn to a favourite son in the shape of Gennaro Gattuso to step in and take charge. This will delight fans who will remember the success he was part of when a player at the San Siro.

Gattuso has served his apprenticeship as a manager with lower level roles previously so he should hopefully be able to take his chance now!
